North Atlantic divers are best known for their
rugged activities of diving in cold water and
their incredible desire to bring home an artifact
Ñ some remembrance of where they were or what
they saw. For some a bottle, or a piece of brass

The "D" Word: A Decompression Update
Dr. Bill Hamilton & Joel Silverstein February
2001 http://www.beneaththesea.org/attendinfo/workshops.html#W10
Most recreational divers have a fear of
decompression. This exciting comprehensive 3-hour
workshop will help eliminate those fears and teach
participants that decompression is nothing to fear
but to respect. The workshop will cover the
definitions of decompression, no-stop diving, the
safety stop, and how to conduct decompression
stops if needed. The workshop will explore the
different ways decompression is completed using
air, enriched air Nitrox, diving computers and
tables. Bill and Joel will review some of the
popular dive planning software programs. This
seminar is a must for instructors, advanced
divers, and technical divers.
